i need a new wardrobe. like, now.

Ok.  I need help.  I’ve been out of a job since March.  Even when I worked there, we had a dress code (khaki pants, blue shirts).  My closet is full of clothes I don’t feel feminine or happy about.  (I admit, a lot of these feelings are coming from the fact I’m watching a marathon of “What Not To Wear” on TLC, lol).

In essence?  I want a new wardrobe.

Also?  I don’t have the money nor do I know where to start.

I have a few cute dresses.  I have a sexy black dress.  And then there’s a bunch of hodge podge.  Some band t-shirts.  My “Textually Active” tee, which is super comfy and makes me fit in at college haha.  Lots of tank tops, which I usually pair with terrycloth shorts in the summer.  I’m simple and dress like I’m still in high school.  I’m 24.

The thing is, I’ve cleaned my closet out over the past few months and got rid of a ton of clothes.  And replaced none of them.  So I’ve got nothing feminine or dressy or classy to wear to job interviews or to feel good in.  I want comfortable.  I want chic.  I want sexy.  And I don’t know where to start.

Any help?  Suggestions?  I’m begging you.  Remember…totally on a budget here.

I’m glad I’m not the only 24yo that still dresses like a teenager lol. Did I mention that I only shop “Junior’s” sizes? haha.

I like New York & Company (Or Lerner?) for a more grown-up, sexy, sophisticated look. But I rarely try to pull that off anymore. Their prices aren’t *too* bad, but tend to be a bit more than *I* want to pay most times.

Plato’s Closet is a good place for affordable nice clothes, if you have one near you.. or Clothes Mentor (The “grown-up” version of Plato’s Clost. I think that’s what it’s called)

Watch for Back-To-School sales (like now.) I got some huge deals last August at Sear’s.. so check out anywhere you would usually shop and definitely take advantage of those sales!

I tend to only buy clothes when they’re on sale.. and a REALLY good price. I’m a little bit of a cheapo - haha!

I buy a lot of my clothes at Kohl’s they have a lot of really classy stuff. I usually try to keep myself out of the Junior section as much as possible too. I only shop in Womens =).

I still have days I just want to wear a shirt with a goofy saying on it and jeans though. I can’t say I’ll ever grow out of that, hehe.
