catching up with BFF

I had lunch with my best friend today who I haven’t seen in about two months. It was really nice to get out and have lunch at Tim Horton’s and just catch up with her. She’s having a baby next month and she’s got this cute little round baby bell! I’m so excited for her. She has two boys already, and her husband has 2 boys and 1 girl from his previous marriage. So this little girl will be coming into a big family that will spoil her rotten! Nothing like being the baby in a family of 6, and only 1 of 2 girls!

Anyway, we caught up and gossiped and agreed we would need to do it again very soon. Going to try to have a weekly lunch date of sorts. She only lives about 7 minutes away, so I don’t know why we never get together for stuff like this.

Aside from that I’m just enjoying the beautiful weather. It’s nice and warm and sunny for the 4th of July! We don’t even plans. How sad is that? Well, I take that back. We don’t have plans today but we are going to watch fireworks tomorrow about an hour from here on the water with some friends. I hear Bay City has a wonderful fireworks display, but we’ve never gone and I figured now is as good a time as any! :)

I went to Blockbuster today to try and rent Guitar Hero: Aerosmith but they were out. I figured they would be. Everywhere around here is out. Figured it would give us something fun to do this weekend since Dave is on call and we can’t really venture out too much in case he has to go into work.

Since I’m trying to save money, but I love to read and usually spend lots of money on my beloved books…I joined Paperback Swap which allows you to swap books with other members. If you send a book out, you pay shipping. For every book you send, you earn 1 credit. You can then redeem these credits to “order” books from fellow swappers and they pay to ship the book to you. It’s really not to bad considering you can send a book out media mail for under $3. (If you are interested in joining, click the link above please! I will get an extra credit if you do. Then you can refer people and get credits, too!) I’m hoping this program will cut back immensely on the amount of money I spend at bookstores!
